Our committees are a way we focus on historic preservation, education, and patriotism by enabling us to support and give back to our community. The committees we are active with:
- American Heritage – Theme for 2022-2023: “Educating the Next Generation on Our Historic American Trails”
- American History – Sponsors American History Essay contests for students in grades 5 through 8
- American Indians – Support of Indian schools and other programs
- Americanism – To promote, celebrate, and assist in developing citizenship and patriotism in communities
- Children of the American Revolution – Promotes training in patriotism and leadership for youth from birth to age 22
- Commemorative Events – Acknowledge benchmarks in American history
- Community Classroom – Provides additional support to teachers and children in classrooms and schools
- Community Service Awards – Provides a non-competitive recognition to worthy individuals and organizations for outstanding voluntary service
- Conservation – Educate on natural resources
- Constitution Week – Activities emphasize the responsibilities of learning, protecting, defending & preserving the Constitution
- DAR Good Citizens – Recognizes and awards senior high school students who exemplify the qualities of a good citizen
- DAR Magazine – Promotes subscriptions from chapter members
- DAR Museum Outreach – Informs members of the needs and exhibits of the Museum
- DAR Project Patriot – Supports America’s service members and their families
- DAR Scholarship – Available scholarships through the DAR
- DAR School – Promotes contributions and support of the DAR schools and approved schools
- DAR Service to Veterans – Acknowledge and recognize veterans’ service, sacrifice, and commitment to the preservation of our nation’s freedom
- DAR Today Podcast – A monthly broadcast that will seek to educate the public and our membership on exactly who we are
- The Flag of the United States of America – To promote a deep patriotic sense of respect for our flag
- Genealogical Records – Preserves valuable unpublished records, such as Bible records
- Historic Preservation – Active in preservation projects in the community
- Junior American Citizens – Promotes civics education, American heritage and history, love of country and service
- Junior Membership – Promotes active participation by Junior members (age 18-35)
- Lineage Research – Assists prospective members to obtain the required documentation for membership
- Literacy Promotion – Promote literacy in adults and children
- National Defense – Advocates for a strong American military defense and unwavering faithfulness to the ideals of the Founding Fathers as set forth in the U.S. Constitution
- Patriot Records Project – Indexes genealogical information contained within various repositories of documents detailing the establishment of the nation
- Public Relations and Media Committee – This committee helps tell the DAR story of service and friendship
- Service to America – Encourages members to provide meaningful community service in order to promote historic preservation, education and patriotism
- Specialty Research – Recognize the significant, but less frequently recognized, contributions to the cause of American freedom, by men and women residing within North America and in other countries during the time of the Revolutionary War
- Women’s Issues – Current issues that are important to today’s women
