Our committees are a way we focus on historic preservation, education, and patriotism by enabling us to support and give back to our community. The committees we are active with:
- American Heritage – Theme for 2021: “Rise, and Shine Your Light on Our House Beautiful”
- American History – Sponsors American History Essay contests for students in grades 5 through 8
- American Indians – Support of Indian schools and other programs
- Americanism – Community oriented service promoting knowledge, loyalty, and love
- Children of the American Revolution – Promotes training in patriotism and leadership for youth from birth to age 22
- Commemorative Events – Acknowledge benchmarks in American history
- Community Classroom – Provides additional support to teachers and children in classrooms and schools
- Community Service Awards – Provides a non-competitive recognition to worthy individuals and organizations for outstanding voluntary service
- Conservation – Educate on natural resources
- Constitution Week – Activities emphasize the responsibilities of learning, protecting, defending & preserving the Constitution
- DAR Good Citizens – Recognizes and awards senior high school students who exemplify the qualities of a good citizen.
- DAR Magazine – Promotes subscriptions from chapter members.
- DAR Museum Outreach – Informs members of the needs and exhibits of the Museum
- DAR Project Patriot – Supports American’s service personnel in current conflicts abroad by sending comfort items
- DAR Scholarship – Contact schools on available scholarships through the DAR
- DAR School – Promotes contributions and support of the DAR schools and approved schools
- DAR Service to Veterans – Acknowledge and recognize veterans
- Genealogical Records – Preserves valuable unpublished records, such as Bible records
- Genealogy Preservation – Index DAR genealogical and membership information into computerized, searchable databases
- Historic Preservation – Active in preservation projects in the community
- Insignia – The proper use and placement of pins and bars upon the official ribbon
- Junior American Citizens – Promotes good citizenship and appreciation of American history & heritage by encouraging sponsorship of clubs in schools and other community groups
- Junior Membership – Promotes active participation by Junior members (age 18-36)
- Lineage Research – Assists prospective members to obtain the required documentation for membership
- Literacy Promotion – Promote literacy in adults and children
- National Defense – Advocates for a strong American military defense
- Patriot Records Project – Indexes genealogical information contained within various repositories of documents detailing the establishment of the nation
- Public Relations and Media Committee – This committee tells the DAR story
- Service to America – Encourages members to provide meaningful community service in order to promote historic preservation, education and patriotism
- Volunteer Information Specialists – Promotes use of computer technology to facilitate the work of the society
- Women’s Issues – Current issues that are important to today’s women
